The Flash season 4 started with a bang this week, and we got our first look at season 4’s first non-speedster big bad on The Flash. Last season teased that “DeVoe,” aka “The Thinker,” was coming, and now he’s here. But who is he and what can he do ?
We saw that The Thinker and his assistant, The Mechanic, sent the Samuroid to bait Team Flash into bringing Barry back from the Speed Force. Barry is out of the Speed Force and The Thinker is the one who drew him out. We will only know The Thinker’s plan for The Flash in upcoming episodes.
In the comics, there were four versions of The Thinker. The earliest versions were Clifford DeVoe, a genius inventor who created a “Thinking Cap” , a metal hat a metal hat that could project mental force that made him think better. It made a genius even more brilliant, allowing him to outwit even the smartest heroes.

Artificial Intelligence
After the death of Clifford DeVoe, Mister Terrific used the Thinking-Cap to create an artificial intelligence based on DeVoe’s brain-patterns. The computer system based on the original Thinker’s Thinking Cap technology created by Mr. Terrific gained consciousness and took on a visual hologram form.
